Project Description

In pursuit of a home more modern, open and spacious than the traditional Victorian house they had occupied, homeowners in Avon-by-the-Sea purchased two lots one block closer to the ocean and started from scratch. The Robert Legere Design Team was brought in when the new home was still a blue print and worked with the homeowners, architect and builders on everything from the relocation of walls, cabinetry design and the placement of appliances to the selection of all furnishings, fixtures, tile, accessories, and more. All interior finishes throughout the house were designed and installed by the Robert Legere General Contracting Division.

The 6-bedroom home needed to suit four generations of family, some of whom are full-time residents and some of whom call the beautiful home their own on a part-time basis. As such, an open plan concept on the first floor was designed to be bright, welcoming and highly functional allowing for residents and visitors in the living, dining and kitchen areas to interact seamlessly; multiple bathrooms, each with its own custom tile design, were created with their most frequent users in mind; and additional gathering rooms on the second and third floors provide inviting, well-appointed spaces for groups to gather for movies, games and more.

Throughout the home, soft seaside hues are met with pops of brighter, more saturated colors; furnishings and upholstery meet the family’s requirements of comfort, beauty and durability; and personalized touches, like the colorful, custom-designed area rug in the living space, make the home truly their own.

The result is the home the owners envisioned – a place where multiple generations can entertain and relax, spend time together or have a little privacy, all amid the relaxed, contemporary style they desired.
