The client wanted to transform three separate, traditionally-styled rooms into one contemporary, open plan concept that would flow naturally from one area to the next and encourage interaction among the three spaces.
The design needed to better suit the owners’ lifestyle and the fact that they frequently entertain friends, family and business associates. The primary goal of this re-design was to enable the owners to stay engaged with guests and family when preparing meals, or cooking for special occasions.
The Robert Legere Design team transformed the traditional room structure into a very spacious, open plan that allows people in all three areas to stay connected.
During construction, a low partial wall that divided the kitchen and family room was removed to create a seamless transition from one space to the next. The newly expanded kitchen and oversized island with prep sink allows for lots of extra seating and creates the ideal setting for the owners to prepare meals without missing time with family, friends and guests. Ample seating, including a large, curved back sectional sofa in the family room area and additional conversation pit in the adjacent solarium, further encourages an interactive atmosphere throughout the overall space.
The Robert Legere Design team selected and supplied all materials including appliances, cabinetry, countertops, flooring, lighting fixtures and all furnishings.
